Does anyone know the answer to this question?

Saw this post of the FB group and all the answers are split between 1 & 3.

My take is that urine output isn’t usually part of the blood transfusion protocol, but also I thought a 24G needle would be too small for a PRBCs transfusion (but apparently it’s not?)

Need bootcamp cheatsheets!!

Hi everyone,
I’m currently preparing for the NCLEX and was wondering if anyone here has access to the Bootcamp Cheat Sheets that come with the premium subscription.

I’ve heard they’re really helpful for quick revision and high-yield concepts. If anyone is willing to share them or help me access them, I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance, and good luck to everyone preparing for the NCLEX!

Failed at 150

Hi! I failed my NCLEX at 150 Q’s. I used Uworld and am feeling very discouraged about retaking the exam. I was wondering if anyone had any tips for studying this time around?

For those working while studying for NCLEX... how are you actually doing it?

I genuinely want to know because I'm struggling over here.

By the time I get home from work, my brain is completely fried. I'll sit down to study and somehow 20 questions feels harder than an entire clinical shift.

And then I see people posting schedules with 6-8 hours of studying every day and I'm like... are y'all secretly millionaires or what 😭

Lately I've been trying to stop forcing marathon sessions.

Some days I do 25-30 questions and actually read the rationales. Other days I just review notes or do a few case studies if my brain can handle it. I've been bouncing between a couple resources, including Bootcamp, but honestly I think the bigger challenge is just staying consistent when I'm exhausted.

I still feel guilty though.

Part of me keeps thinking I'm not doing enough compared to everyone else online, even though I know comparing schedules probably isn't helping.

For people who worked while studying, what did your week actually look like?

Were you studying every single day or just trying to survive until your days off? Maybe I'm overthinking this lol.

Passed at 85q's. Ask me anything!!

Hi all!! Here to shed light and good manisfestations for all the future NCLEX takers. This exam is possible and you CAN do this. During nursing school, I didn't get all A's, I was a mix of A, B and C's.. and I graduated this may. Dean's list a couple semesters. I did good on my regular class exams, but I didn't pass my HESI exit and got a 75% chance of passing my Nclex. And here I am still standing, applying to jobs as an RN!! Nursing school can beat you down, think you're not capable, turn you around and put you through all the motions. I have been there!!! BUT you are here and at the finish line! This is truly the last step!!!! You guys got this. If I can do it, I believe in all of you.
Studying: I used bootcamp utilized their crash courses, study plan and readiness assessments, I listened to the 12th Mark K lecture, watched most of Dr Sharon's videos, 7 day nursing crusade, 1 hr comprehensive nclex exam on youtube. Ask me anything!!

California BRN deficiency clarification

Hi everyone,

I am an international nursing graduate from the Philippines applying for NCLEX through the California BRN.

My Breeze account shows that the BRN already received my official transcript and the Breakdown of Educational Program for International Nursing Programs form submitted by my school. However, I recently received a deficiency notice asking for additional clarification, including: • Whether theoretical coursework and clinical practice were completed concurrently during the same academic terms/semesters • Whether any theoretical courses were delivered online, through distance education, or telehealth • Whether any clinical hours were completed through simulation, virtual clinical experiences, telehealth observations, or laboratory-based simulations instead of direct patient care • Copies of academic calendars • Total direct in-person hospital clinical hours for Medical-Surgical, Obstetric/Maternity, Pediatric, and Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing • A detailed breakdown of online theory, telehealth/virtual clinical observations, laboratory/simulation practice, and direct in-person clinical practice

My question is: since my school already submitted the Breakdown of Educational Program form with my transcript, should I simply send this deficiency list to my school’s registrar/dean and ask them to provide the requested clarifications directly to the California BRN? Or is there another official California BRN form that my school needs to complete for these clarifications?

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who experienced the same deficiency request. Thank you!

Saw this question on NCLEX crusade and was confused with the answer

The nurse is providing care to a client following a Prostatectomy. Which of the following nursing diagnosis is the príority?

  1. Deficient Knowledge about post operative care
2 Risk for imbalance fluid volume
  2. Risk of hemorrhage
  3. Acute pain related to surgical incision

The answer is 4.

Do readiness exams matter more than daily qbank scores?

Maybe this is a dumb question, but are daily qbank scores even that important?

Mine are literally all over the place.

One day I'll get a 55% and start questioning my entire nursing education. The next day I do fine and convince myself maybe I'm not completely doomed lol.

The only thing that's been somewhat consistent for me are the readiness assessments.

I've been using a few different resources, including Bootcamp lately, and their readiness exams make me feel a little less crazy because they seem to track progress better than random 20-question sets.

But then part of me wonders if I'm just using them as emotional support instead of actually fixing weak areas 😂

I guess daily scores depend on the topics, difficulty, how tired I am after work, and whether Mercury is in retrograde or something.

For people who already went through this, what did you pay more attention to?

Readiness exams? CAT exams? Daily percentages? Or did you eventually stop looking at the numbers altogether?

Passed in 85q’s

Took my NCLEX a couple of days ago and leading up to it I was truly overwhelmed by what everyone was describing this test was just sit through it and come out crying because it never got to the level of difficulty everyone else would talk about, so I thought surely I had done something wrong and that it shut down in 85questions bc I was dumb. 24hrs later my BON cleared me.
Here is my advice for those of you taking it.

Practice case studies I had like 5 or 6. Bootcamp structures them very similar to what is seen on the NCLEX.

Patient safety is obviously priority so if you don’t know a word don’t freak just break it down and ask “what keeps my patient safe?”

If something comes up and you have never heard of it and answer seems wrong but the others seem more wrong pick the one that feels the least wrong based on what you know.

Mark K literally talked about everything on the test I had. Like everything. Listen to lecture 1-12 at least one time and focus a couple of times on mark k’s electrolyte lecture and his dangerous values lecture because it helps with the case studies. They give you normal values but it’ll help you know what should mean something is wrong. Prioritization will also help understand some of the harder questions.

Nursing crusade video 1 towards the middle helps you breakdown questions in a way that I had never even thought about before and I used that strategy multiple times.

This is a mental test, take deep breaths close your eyes and re read the question when you feel like you don’t know something. I did that once and then the question made sense afterwards. Go in thinking you’ll get all 150 so that you have the mentality and endurance.

If you hit the 2hr mark and it asks if you need or want a break take it and go splash water on your face, take deep breaths, and drink COLD water to restart your nervous system.

Most importantly remember that you are prepared. For some reason this felt more straight forward than some of my nursing exams. You did nursing school this is just another test.

This is a post to say that if I can do it, so can YOU. I severely understudied and procrastinated + I was definitely not a straight A student. I struggled through nursing school and never feel like I got the right footing, even after graduating lol.

All I used was ATI and barely at that. I was scoring incredibly low, averaging 50% and 11th percentile 💀 so don’t do what I did, BUT if you did, there is still hope. I left the center thinking I completely failed but I ended up passing. What I will say is I believe my school set us up for success as we had a 94% pass rate so alot was honestly a compressive test. Please ask any questions!

Failed in 150

I failed my NCLEX in 150 questions. Can someone please give me tips on how to pass? I walked out knowing I failed. I did Kaplan, mark K and international crusades or something like that on YouTube. I studied for hours and hours a day. I can’t stop crying. Someone please give me tips and nothing that’s extremely expensive because I just don’t have the money right now to purchase anything extra

Missed test date

Hey guys,

I was originally scheduled to take my NCLEX June 20th but I changed it early last month and Pearson never recorded my new testing date I was supposed to take it on the 2nd. I called Pearson the night before because I panicked couldn’t find my email for the testing center and they marked it as a no show with no ATT number shown. Pearson said they could give me a one time courtesy but the department that I needed was closed now when I call them back the previous people notating my account bs they not trying to help me and keeps referring back to the BON for an exception. I already emailed and called BON but I know Pearson trying to get me to pay for it it seems now. BON haven’t answered it’s a holiday weekend and I need to take this asap I can’t wait for a new ATT for long I have a job already lined up.

Please help me whoever been through this situation before should I keep calling Pearson ???
