Warning of Suspicious Individuals

Warning of Suspicious Individuals

Not sure if this is allowed here but trying to spread the word.

My sister (22) and I (F, 31) were approached today at Rockingham Mall outside a knick knack store by a lady who was accompanied by other women who asked us to "follow her" to a "bible study" session.

She wasn't handing out pamphlets but it was obvious she was trying to lure young ladies especially. Please be on the lookout. Could be harmless, but it was at minimum a red flag.

The mall security was all but useless, but the Salem police have been made aware, and also informed me these individuals were on their radar before too.

Is Story Land worth it for a 2 year old?

My kid will be turning 2 soon and I was thinking about taking her to Story Land but don’t know if it’s worth it. Is there enough there for a two year old to do?

Edit to add, we are about 1.5 hours away from it.

Evening activities in/near Meredith?

My boyfriend and I are visiting Meredith in a couple of weeks and staying a week. We have a bunch of day trips we want to do and some restaurants we want to try, but I’m wondering if there are any fun evening activities like maybe a bar with a karaoke night nearby? We’ll have a car, so we can travel a bit too. I’m especially interested in queer/queer friendly places/activities. Also open to restaurant or daytime activity recommendations!

Anyone out there willing to be friends with my dad?

Looking for a chill guy to hang out with and make you laugh? Look no further than my father (60M)! As a retired disabled veteran, hes got the dark humor to have you rolling! He enjoys grilling, going out on the lake, coloring books, and recently picked up gardening!

Fr though, it makes me sick to my stomach seeing him lonely. He makes friends as easy as breathing but he struggles with staying in contact. He has no friends to take him out to have fun and all of his long term friends have moved away. If anyone is willing, help a concerned daughter out and be friends with her super cool dad

What made this hole?? Please tell me it’s something cute and fuzzy living under my bush. I’ve seen a possible groundhog looking animal in my yard, could that do this?

Downy woodpecker down!

Chilling in the house one day and heard a familiar bonk sound. It usually meant a bird had crashed into our sliding glass door.

This time was different. Went out and found this baby downy woodpecker laying on his back just outside the door. He was alive, his little head was swiveling and his wings were twitching.

Picked him up and tried to set him down on the railing of our deck, to give him a better chance of recovering and flying away. I said tried, because he did not stay there, but hopped right back up onto my hand, then climbed up my forearm and sat there hyperventilating. This happened twice, so I figured this was my job now.

After a couple minutes he gathered himself enough, took a jump and returned to the air.

Pool day passes near North Conway?

I freaking love visiting your state and being respectful and spending all my hard earned money, please don’t hurt me as I ask this question.. ❤️

As my kid gets older, a pool is becoming a real good plan B to fill up any downtime while on vacation. The place we stay is great in many ways but the pool is indoors and tiny.

Is there a place where you can buy a day pass? Does Cranmore offer this as part of their adventure park? Gonna doubt it but our hotel is very close to that. Thank you!!!!

EDIT to add: we always hit up the area waterfalls, but looking for something easy where I don’t have to hope and pray that I get parking

How to export out a used engine from New Hampshire?

Hello there... I have purchased a used Ford Engine which is currently sitting at a storage of a company named Stakry. I am based overseas and there's been a bit of going back and forth between me and Stakry. At first they said they could ship the engine and now they said they can't ship a used engine due to oil residuals and whatnot. Does anyone have any experience with shipping out a used engine out of the US? I haven't been able to find a service provider that can ship this engine out of the US and the engine has been sitting there for more than two months. Any advice and help I can get would be appreciated! Thanks!

Thinking about moving to NH — need thoughts from people who currently live in NH!

Weighing the pros and cons of moving to New Hampshire. What are your personal experiences with living there?

My boyfriend and I are going to get married sometime in the future and are thinking about good states to live. We’re going back and forth about a couple states with my mother who would likely be moving with us. What are your personal pros + cons with living in New Hampshire?

For us:
Pros: hopefully mild summers, away from huge cities (like NYC + Orlando), property tax is lower than what it is for the state we currently reside in, and of course we looked into the sales + income taxes, which also beat our state since it’s one of the highest lol.

Neutral: the “harsh” winters (my boyfriend and I don’t mind, but my mother hates it)

Cons: we don’t really have any at the moment.

My mother brought up some issues in regards to how far Costcos, Walmarts, hospitals, and emergency vets are from where we’re thinking about living, but we’re thinking about living near Manchester or Nashua at the moment. We’d be hopefully about 20 min away from the city life so it wouldn’t be too far of a drive from necessities

She also wants to know about internet providers since we’ll all be using the internet pretty heavily as my boyfriend and I are both gamers and it’s a hobby we really enjoy together. We play first person shooters and would require about 1-2gb download if we wire it in. My mother enjoys her streaming services and playing on her tablet, so internet is heavily used in our family.

We’re mainly concerned about financials since we’re pretty young and are planning our entire future together, along with avoiding the really hot summers of where we are now.

Edit: my boyfriend and I are in the culinary/medical fields so also want to see how those fields are doing in NH

Can’t reply to everyone but I think I’m going to steer clear from reddit for now and use google to try and piece together what might be a better place to live than our current state.

Thank you to all the helpful replies!
