I just went through my storage and found my old PS3 collection

I found my 800 PS3 game collection from back when I played the console years ago. All are complete and in good shape. Are PS3 games worth anything or should I just sell them at a yard sale for a dollar like I did with my PS1 games?

Edit: Be on the lookout for some pictures in the future and I will go through them all soonish. Probably my vacation week. I didn’t realize some of these games were worth money. The bins are extra dusty.

Installing new ground rod

I’m installing a new ground rod because my old one is no longer good and is inside the house rusted and all. What is the best way for me to ground my roof top antenna to the new rod? Also what’s the best way to ground the coaxial cable outside for electrical interference?

Can I combine things with this app?

Can I combine my HD Homerun m3u playlist, with another m3u playlist and pick and choose what channels I want active?

Does this app not automatically select all the channels and let you select the channels you want manually saving you a lot of time?

NVR/POE Cameras 70+ feet away from antenna or coaxial wires causing me to lose VHF?

Can anyone figure this one out? My NVR system and POe cameras cause my VHF channels to drop. The system is plugged in and setup in a whole different building 70ft away from the antenna or coaxial wires but each poe Ethernet cable I plug in to the NVR causes my VHF signal to drop. Once I have 4 POE cameras plugged in I lose my VHF channels. Is there anything I can do about this? I’ve messed around with this and have definitely pinpointed it to this system and so far have found no solution. Could it be the Ethernet cables, the power cord powering the NVR?

It is a Anpiz POE camera setup with there NVR and own cameras.

Anybody Know Anything About These Low Power TV Stations The Makers Of HD Homerun Applied For?

Does anybody know anything about these? I’m interested in learning more about these and to know if they have other purposes then just broadcasting live tv? Also were these areas picked out for any specific reason? Could another location be added?

How To Use A TV Antenna In VT & NH

First make sure you go to https://www.rabbitears.info/searchmap.php and search for your address.

Anything labeled as Fair or Good can be picked up with an indoor antenna most of the time. If you have any poor signals then an outdoor antenna on your roof is likely needed. For anything labeled as bad you don’t have a high chance but you could catch the signals from knife edge diffraction which is a very precise engineering setup.

If you are using an indoor antenna I highly recommend using one with an amplifier. I don’t have a favorite indoor antenna but just don’t use those flat paper thin ones or use ones that promise over 100 miles. It’s all marketing crap.

If you are using an antenna outside I highly recommend the DB8E antenna paired with an amplifier. You could also try a Yagi antenna but those can only be aimed in one direction. DB8E has worked better for me in our terrain here.

Outdoor antenna suggestion https://store.antennasdirect.com/DB8e-Outdoor-DTV-Antenna.html

Outdoor/Indoor Amplifier suggestion make sure you buy the outdoor model if you are using it outside. https://www.kitztech.com/kt500.html

Also I highly suggest you buy a OBTV filter for your antenna it blocks all unwanted signals. Please make sure to install this before the amp or it will not work. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D5T9NDL3?lv=shuf&channelId=500&plpRedirect=mhFallback

If you don’t have some of the local big networks you want in your area like CBS, NBC, FOX, ABC, and PBS you can always email the general manager of the station to show interest in there station and see if they will build a translator station near you. WCAX and PBS are amazing at doing this.

WCAX Contact: jay.barton@wcax.com

WPTZ Contact: wptzengineering@hearst.com (There link to the general manager email does not work right now).

WFFF/WVNY Contact: tcastano@mychamplainvalley.com

PBS VT Contact: hello@vermontpublic.org

PBS NH Contact: ddeangelis@nhpbs.org

I am going to share some high population areas of VT TV channel lists if you use a DB8E Antenna with an AMP on your roof. These are the signals that come to your town as good enough to watch.

Also please remember that in 2009 analog TV shutdown in most areas. So TV antenna signals have moved on to digital so they are no longer fuzzy, have static, and look a lot more like cable in quality. If a channel is broadcasting a HD channel it will most of the time look better the cable even if compressed because this is the master feed and raw feed of the channel. Sub channels are usually in SD but still look very good.

Possible New Affiliates

Heard some talk that 109 affiliates may be coming within 3 years per FCC filings. Take a look at this list and if you have one of these towers going in near you then take a look at the coverage map on the right and if it covers you then you have a high chance of getting all the networks offered by GAIM.

Do Not Install This Unprotected Outside OBTV Filter (Out of Band Filter for TV Antenna Signals)

I’ve gone through two of these in 3 months because I installed these outside and did not fully protect them from the elements. Channel master states this is weather resistant but having two fail in minor rain showers when all your other equipment is fine makes me think otherwise.

Math calculations for DB8E and real world test

I tested out some real word examples for some stations I would like to get and ran some math calculations on a place near my house and also ran a rabbit ears report.

A slightly elevated hill near my house receives WPTZ at 80 percent, WCAX at 60 percent, and WFFF at 40 percent signal strength. This had me thinking that I could probably just aim my antenna slightly upwards to try to capture some of the strong signals.

I ran some calculations and believe I would need to aim my antenna 12 degrees upwards to be able to catch any of the signals from the nearby hill. The hill is roughly 1 mile away where the signals are very strong. I was going to aim it roughly 8 degrees upwards but because there is a tree line across the street I thought 12 degrees was a better idea.

I ran this real world test on the hill with a Clearstream 4V max with a channel master 30DB amp around 15 feet on an elevated deck on the hill.

I plan on installing a DB8E antenna with a VHF element 30ft above ground pointed at 357 degrees and aimed 12 degrees up. I may go higher if I put more support but we’ll stick with 30ft for now. I will put a OBTV filter near the antenna from channel master and then put a Kitz 500 amp right on the pole that has low noise at 0.85db and high amplifier strength up to 36db if it is all needed. Since the DB8E has all sorts of coaxial cables that run through it I would say I have roughly 85ft of coax. 70ft of the coax is solid copper and extremely low loss. The rest of coax is RG6 but not solid copper and may have some more loss. This will be running into a HD Homerun device so it can decode the absolute weakest of signals.

A Yagi antenna will not work here because of how the signals come into my area but a DB8E should be able to pull in all the signals I want.

These are the channels I hope to receive based off the help Ive received from people in this forum and the tests I’ve run in the real world and the math calculations I have ran to decide how to position the antenna. I don’t think any of these channels are out of the realm of possibility.

DB8E Antenna with the VHF add on amplified with the Kitz 500 while being 50ft above ground?

I will be using the DB8E antenna with the VHF add on located 50ft above ground. The Kitz-500 amplifier will be located near the base of the pole.

The Kitz amplifier has up to 36db of gain while only having 0.85db of noise which is very unheard of for so much gain. My coaxial run will be 70ft of solid copper wire that is rated to have extremely low loss.

This antenna setup will be located in one of the worst areas for tv reception as most towers are 3 edge or more at a distance. My main goal is to pick up WCAX, WPTZ, and WNNE. These 3 stations are all 3 edge and are 80 miles away. Nearby land is in the Red-Green color on rabbit ears while I have no color and it shows the signal as bad. These stations broadcast off a very high peak at high power.

The reason why I am shooting for these networks is because these are networks I would like to watch and also these are networks that send signals to me that my hd Homerun detects I just don’t get a picture which makes me believe a better setup might allow me to pick up these stations and make them barely come in.

Would you consider these channels to be a good blend of programming?

I get these channels and was wondering if you would consider them a good blend of programming. I get local news, national news, world news, classic programming, cartoons, live sports, documentaries, cooking, religious and other random genres. This seems like a small list but seems to have good variety.

Hi HD Homerun a channel just launched an independent local channel. It just needs guide data paired up to it. The guide data is available on Titan TV and other applications. Please let me know what info you need from me in order to pair it and I will provide it to you.

Thank you
