Why did Fidium run a fiber optic line along my poorly shielded live electrical line?

noticing that I can't get to facebook this morning. (yeah, I know...) have restarted the router and flushed cache and rebooted, etc...

My household swapped from Xfinity internet a few weeks ago to Fidium fiber internet.
Xfinity was slowing down, costing more every bill, and generally a really bad experience.
Fidium has been a different kind of headache which I'm looking for some possible fixes for before doing anything more drastic...
Basically, we keepseeing devices gain connection and lose connection - might be a few hours at a time, might be a couple days, but does not seem to be connected with any specific event. A computer just sitting will have connection and then lose it. No power cycling, nothing.
They informed us of a "15 device limit". We have a bunch of kids and several adults in our house so we at first thought maybe we had hit that limit, but with all but 3 devices turned on and only one of those devices
had internet we're suspicious of that being the issue.
Has anyone else ran into this with Fidium or does anyone have ideas how to fix this? We already had a Fid tech to our house annnd they broke more than they fixed and after 3 hours just left. 😐
Any constructive input would be appreciated!
*What we have tried:
-Power cycling the modem and router
-Power cycling all devices
-Running device side network trouble shooters
-Reducing number of devices connected
-Running devices through ethernet and through wifi
-Calling tech support
-Having tech support come out to troubleshoot
Hi, anyone have any luck using a router running OpenWRT with fidium?
just flashed a W1700k this morning but, couldn't get it to to connect after cloning the provided routers mac.
I have the Fidium 1G plan and I think I sometimes have Internet issues but the wireless router that I have (TP-Link Archer BE-550) doesn't have logging or stats for me to verify or check the health of the network.
What's a decent router that will provide this data but won't break the bank?
Can you guys help me?
I had the 1 gig service for a few years when it first come out in Vermont. Upgraded to 2 gig last week. Worked pretty well perfectly until a couple months ago.
Problem, though connection with wired or wireless on different devices on network, service seems to freeze. Works for a bit when tech arrives or service calls then happens again. This I minimum daily.
No gaming or heavy tv watching here also.
Long story below
I’m not an IT guy but do have some skills and understand basics of networking and topology. My knowledge is dated as I worked in the field in the early 2000s.
Don’t know quite how to pin down what to look at basics like latency, ip conflicts etc.
EDIT I changed the dns to google per advice on here elsewhere just now. I’ll see how that works out.
The problem is that the service seems to “pause” and hang for a while. Sometimes a few minutes sometimes up to a half hour. After a few “unplug and reset” calls, a tech came out, they said they had to do something at the main hub in the area off the property.
While here, he mentioned a better deal on the 2 gig service. And replaced the router.
I signed up, continued to experience the delays in data flow, (1 gig)till the new router (Adtron) came with tech installed. Worked good, shows 2.2 up or down on the Attune app but still stops periodically.
Around 9 days ago, I changed my internet provider from Spectrum to Fidium and so far it’s been great! However, now I’ve been Spectrum trucks come twice in the last week to my apartment building. This is very odd as I’ve never seen them come this often and at weird hours of the day (they were here until 10:30pm the other night). Now I’m stressed that it’s my fault and the guy that installed my Fidium cable/line screwed up and is causing problems in the building.
Could there be a reason for this or am I just overthinking a coincidence?
