In recent months I’ve become quite the fan of the Fuente Don Carlos and Ashton VSG. Naturally I’ve been curious about the OpusX. I’m happy to report that this No. 4 was a splendid smoking experience (especially the final third) but for the money, I’ll just as happily stick to the Don Carlos and an occasional VSG to quench my Dominican desires.

Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur Epicure

Only Hoyo de Monterrey stick I’ve smoked is the Excalibur, looks like this line comes in sumatra or maduro, sampler info did not say.

I won’t say it’s better than the Blue, but it is a bit stronger and I do prefer that. Excellent stick.

RoMa Craft Maestranza. Superb stick.

My Father Blue robusto

Alec Bradley Magic Toast Chunk. About 15min in and it’s ok, not great. Weak smoke output and a tinge of green bitterness.

A standby in my rotation, this stick is a powerhouse of flavor and surprisingly affordable.

The deer are getting a bit too brave around here…

Having a robusto this evening, but the No. 3 or No. 4 is my favorite so far. Either way it’s a fantastic stick.

I think I’m going to order a box of these 👀

Had this stick for about 6 years and finally burnt her up. Certainly a bit mellowed but still plenty powerful.
