I have paid in excess of £1600 trying to get a HRT prescription in the UK privately in the last 4 months and have not had a single drop of HRT from them.
£184 to medichecks for a baseline blood test
£250 to GHC (gender hormone clinic) for initial video appointment
£550 to the Psychiatrist who did my assessment for dysphoria a month ago
£245 for the Gender Clinician Appointment for Pride in Health (which btw they moved the date on without asking me)
£94.40 for the "Care Navigation Appointment" for Pride in Health
£190.80 for the "Psychology Intake & Diagnostic Review" for Pride in Health (4+ month wait btw)
£90 sign up fee for Pride in Health (iirc that's what it's for, hard to tell on my statements)
Oh and GHC will be wanting £55 a month (in perpetuity) just to continue giving access, which will not cover their demands for follow-up blood work, prescription costs, etc.
Now, before anyone says "just DIY", I have been on DIY for 12+ months, and that has cost me in total ~£400-500 (OpenGate, may they rest in peace - before someone opsecs me, they don't sell anymore) for about a decade's worth of vials. And I'd guess maybe another £100 in random needles/syringes

- Why are you doing this: Because I am stupid enough to want a career in public service and they require I don't inject myself with the internets finest tr00nshine if I want to join
