This creep convicted of 98 child abuse offences and 25 victims could be out in just 12 years. Isn't that too lenient?

This 62-yr old Brisbane truckie paid to watch children in the Philippines get sexually abused live online. He also flew to the Philippines to abuse children himself, but failed to organise it when he got there.

The victims were as young as FIVE years old... He's sentenced to 19 years and eligible for parole after 12, so potentially he could be only serving 12 years behind bars.

Why are our laws so lenient against pedophiles?

need some new suggestions for places to eat in Brisbane!

I'm looking for somewhere you've eaten and would happily go back to. doesn't have to be a fancy restaurant. it can be takeaway, bakery, pub, anything. just want some new places to try out, and if you have recommendations for specific dishes to order as well, that would be great!

Where in Brisbane is the equivalent of Newtown (Sydney)?

If someone was relocating from Newtown to Brisbane, which area or suburb would be most similar?

For those that aren't familiar with Newtown, think artsy, progressive, LGBTQIA+ friendly, plenty of food and bars, microbreweries, live music venues.

Why are Brisbane house prices way more expensive now, even higher than Melbourne prices?

Brisbane used to be the obvious cheaper alternative to Sydney and Melbourne, but now the median price is higher for Brisbane than Melbourne.

Why is this happening, and do you think it means Brisbane house prices are overpriced?

If you could choose to live in either, would you choose Brisbane or Melbourne?

Which Japanese restaurant do you recommend in Brisbane?

I want to take my girlfriend out to a nice Japanese restaurant in Brisbane for a date night. What are some good choices? Not too constrained by budget, so hit me up with your best spots, even if they're a bit bougie!

What's the best cheap eat in Brisbane you'd recommend?

Where's your go-to for something delicious but under $20? Could be banh mi, noodles, a burger, not fussed. Just keen to get some good food without spending too much these days.

Underage girl raped and bribed to enlist friends for man's 'selfish and sinister' desires

This is so horrific, especially the part where he "laughed at another [girl] who struggled to breathe as he abused her".

He got jailed for 12 years, but will probably serve less with parole. Meanwhile he's destroyed the lives of 5 young girls.

Five people hospitalised after forklift fire in Hemmant

Pretty awful news coming out of Brisbane’s east this morning.

A forklift caught fire at a commercial site on Anton Road in Hemmant at around 11am.

Five people are being taken to hospital. One person has suffered life-threatening burns to their chest, head and face, while another has serious burns to their arms. Three others are being treated for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters are also trying to stop the fire spreading to nearby shipping containers.

Hope everyone involved pulls through.

Anyone in the Hemmant area know what’s happening on the ground?

Brisbane in the 90s: what do you miss the most?

For anyone who lived in Brisbane during the 90s, what’s something from that era you genuinely miss?

For me, Tops at the Myer Centre has to be up there. When I think back, it's crazy that there was an indoor amusement park with a roller coaster at the top of a shopping centre in the middle of Brisbane. It would never happen nowadays, but thats what makes it so memorable.

If you could bring back one thing from 90s Brisbane tomorrow, what would it be?

It could be an old restaurant or shop, a pub or nightclub, somewhere you hung out as a teenager, an event that disappeared, a suburb before it changed, or just something about what Brisbane used to feel like.
