Where can I find a good Sticky Date Pudding in the inner city and surrounding suburbs?

My mum loves it. It's her favourite desert so I want to try and find a good one if I can.

It's got to come with ice cream and have plenty of toffee/butterscotch sauce on top.

Any help would be appreciated. I don't have a car so we're relying on public transport sadly.

First time trying parmi in Brisbane

Tried parmi for the first time here in Brisbane at Breakfast Creek Hotel. Pretty good honestly. Also tried the XXXX off the wood while I was there.

Any recommendations for good parmi spots around Brisbane?

Saturday night CBD dinner recommendation

As above - I am heading up in a couple of weeks and looking for a dinner spot in the CBD (where we're staying). Somewhere nice (a once a year catch-up!) but not too loud, as we'll be in a small group and want to be able to hear each other. Dietary-wise, one is pescatarian and one pregnant so anything that is easy for those diners would be a win too! Any recommendations much appreciated.

Best restaurants for lunch in Brisbane

Hi,

I'm looking for restaurant recommendations in Brisbane that would be nice to take my mum for a day trip. We are traveling by train. Shes not into meals that are too sweet so Thai food is off the table. And I guess shes not into any loud bars either.
We don't mind any price range as long as its worth it!

New York Pizza in Brisbane

Anyone know a NY pizza join in Brisbane or Sunny Coast? (I'm Northside) I went to Sydney and tried Sal's new York Pizza and want it so bad. The closest I can think of is that New York Pizza place in the Valley that you used to get after clubbing

Edit: Theres a Sal's in Brisbane!!! Omg!

CBD Lunch Recommendations

In Brisbane for magic round, and will be working from the CBD all day today. Looking for a great cafe for lunch, or a really good sandwich spot.

Bonus points for a patisserie or bakery suggestion within 1 hour walk of the CBD for Saturday morning. Looking forward to visiting your wonderful city.

📍Montjoie Pattiserie @West End

Was running some errands around West End this arvo and wanted a quick lunch. Decided to check out [Montjoie Pattiserie](https://maps.app.goo.gl/KFPp4mW4UbUCQrDF8) .

Ordered the ham & cheese savoury crepe, $13. The gentleman behind the counter asked if I wanted a buckwheat crepe, sure, why not.

Came out quick, nicely hot, and larger than I thought. Very crispy, I liked the light rye texture + gooey cheese and nice quality ham. Appreciated how they added a bit of cracked pepper. Super simple but wholly delicious.

Might make another post if I go again and try some of their sweets. Any recs?

Edit: thanks u/dog-dinosaur who pointed out this is a *gallette bretonne*, a traditional French savoury crepe made with buckwheat from Brittany (hence the name). Apparently the complete version (which they did have) traditionally comes with extra mushrooms, spinach and a sunny side up egg in the middle. TIL!

Date night restaurant in CBD?

Want to plan a nice date night in the CBD for my partner who is a big pizza fan. Want something in the city so we can go for a walk along the river after and maybe have a nice glass of wine or two as well. Any good recommendations?

Looking for something with nice vibes for a date night!

Brisbane Motor Museum

The Brisbane Motor Museum is such a good spot even if you’re not massively into cars. The whole car exhibit changes every few months so there’s always completely different cars to come back and see which keeps it really interesting. But honestly the food the reason I go back now. They do all kinds of functions and bookings for any occasion and can completely cater to your needs which is how my husband and I actually discovered it. Their breakfast menu is so good, the big breakfast, eggs benedict, smashed avo and breakie burgers are genuinely beyond cafe quality and the coffee is great too. Then for lunch they’ve got burgers, steak sandwiches, loaded wedges and proper meals that are actually really filling. But only that they can do their full breakfast and lunch menus basically entirely gluten-free and they have a whole cabinet with even more offerings which is great for my kids!! It’s fully air-conditioned, there’s undercover parking with wheelchair accessibility and they’re fully licensed too so you can even grab a beer with lunch. Ticket prices are actually pretty decent as well with concession and family discounts and more. Highly recommend checking it out, the family and I go at least once a month hahaha

Help: Australians & Recent Tourists

I need your help! I am starting to book an Australian trip!
(for two adults)

Brisbane is a must for Bluey’s World & the Zoo. I will also try to visit places from the show.

Any other tips on where to go, where to stay, and what to do? I have a lot of ideas but want to ask how I can do it best.

Also what is the best way to travel throughout the country long distances like from Brisbane to Sydney: car, train, flight?

Some things to know: I love little blue penguins, I have celiac disease, I want to get a tattoo while there, autism friendly venues appreciated, open to nature adventures (especially on/in water aka great barrier reef or diving with sharks)

P.S. Any budget friendly recommendations so we can do the most while there?

All Day West End

One of my favourite newer brunch spots in West End at the moment is All Day. Menu feels thoughtful without trying too hard and the portions are actually decent.
