Evening simulator golf with my husband + a glass of wine 🍷⛳️

We took our golf simulator out in the evening and ended up playing a few relaxed holes together, with a glass of wine on the side… and honestly, it made the whole thing way more fun than I expected. It was supposed to just be a quick practice session at home, but playing casually in the evening with my husband turned it into more of a “date night hobby” than actual practice.

No pressure at all—just good vibes, some laughs, and definitely a few terrible shots we couldn’t stop joking about. I didn’t think this kind of setup would feel so enjoyable, but it’s quickly becoming one of my favorite ways to unwind lately.

Does anyone else here use a golf simulator like this just for fun with your partner or friends? Or have any “non-serious” ways you make practice more enjoyable?

I can now play 38,000+ golf courses at home… and this is the one I had to try first

I’ve been using a setup that gives access to a massive library of virtual golf courses, and I recently went back to play Torrey Pines for a quick round. It still has that classic feel—coastal atmosphere, firm fairways, and a layout that doesn’t feel unfair, but definitely punishes even small mistakes in positioning. The round really sets the tone right from the first hole. On paper it’s just a simple par 4, but where you place your tee shot makes a big difference for the second. Even slightly off line and the angle into the green gets awkward, especially with the subtle elevation changes coming into play.

What I like about Torrey Pines is that it looks pretty straightforward, but still forces you to commit to every shot. Nothing gimmicky, but you’re always thinking at least one shot ahead.

It’s been fun being able to “replay” a course like this virtually, especially when I don’t get to play it in real life as often as I’d like. Anyone else playing Torrey Pines in a sim setup?

Curious how it feels for others and what tees/settings you’re using.
