At some point privacy conscious just means tired of being bothered

After enough spam calls, fake delivery texts, locked account emails, random insurance offers, and scammy voicemails, privacy stops feeling like some big philosophical issue. It just becomes wanting a little peace.

I want my phone to ring without immediately assuming it is a scam. I want to sign up for something without wondering who they are going to sell my info to. I want my inbox to feel like something I control, not a dumping ground for every company I have interacted with since 2014. I do not think I became more privacy conscious because of some huge ideological shift. I think I just got tired. Tired of blocking numbers, tired of unsubscribing, tired of wondering how random companies know my name, number, address, and sometimes even my relatives.
