Thoughts on 2-week notices?

So… I got a new job lined up. It starts in about two weeks and I’m wondering if I should give a 2-week notice to my DSP.

They over hired for this prime and I’m sure there will be some cuts in a couple of weeks anyways, but I don’t think I’d be one of them. Specially bc this past week I got a speeding infraction and was given a route the next day bc the other available drives wouldn’t be able to do the 170+ stops on this route without help.

So… while I do think that giving a two week notice is the right and polite thing to do, I firmly believe they will put me on standby and not give me routes for the next two weeks if I do so, and I need income.

What are your thoughts?

And if you’re someone that put a notice on a DSP before, how did they take it?
