32" Trinitron (KV-32FS100) RGB lines at top of screen – Failing caps?
I recently picked up a 32” Trinitron KV-32FS100. It’s been great for a few weeks, but I’ve started noticing red, green, and blue lines at the top of the screen.
They gradually move up as the set warms. They used to disappear completely, but now they stick around much longer (sometimes permanently). Google points toward failing capacitors.
A few questions I guess:
• Are dying caps the likely cause here?
• I have zero soldering experience. I’ve always wanted to learn, but dealing with CRT voltage as a beginner feels like jumping into the deep end.
• I love this set and don't want to junk it. If I take my time (a month or two) to learn properly, is this a realistic DIY fix?
Any advice on where to start, what to study, or specific guides/videos to watch would be massively appreciated!
