We found a significant Genesis deficiency

CAUTION Genesis buyers, watch out for totally unexpected design deficiencies. Genesis wants to be a luxury car manufacturer. Unfortunately, it is a long way off.

Foremost among the design deficiencies is the Genesis Connected Services app. Intended as a safety, security, and convenience feature (in that order), it only works in the continental US. We drove our US purchased GV60 into Canada and the all of the Connected Services features failed. Why? Because it only operates on the Verizon network. Unlike a cell phone, this wireless connection does not roam outside the US. No navigation, no theft control, no remote access, no charging status, and no keyless entry. And this applies equally for driving from the US to Mexico.

When confronted with this problem neither the dealer nor Genesis USA will do anything about it. Interestingly, Genesis cars purchased in Canada roam seamlessly across North America. Genesis knows how to fix this but refuses to do this for their US customers. Genesis takes no responsibility nor commitment to deal with it.

If looking for a car in this class, look elsewhere. BMW and Tesla have some fine, well designed, and fully functioning models.
