How big of a difference are the 2026 updates

Looking for a new car and I’m pretty set on the GV 70. What I can’t decide is if I want to go with a low mileage 23-25 or a newer/slightly more expensive 26. I can afford either, more a question of if the 26 upgrades are worth the additional cost. I’ve test driven a 25 and a 26. I did love the big screen of the 26, but there seems to be some debate on if people like that or not. For those of you who have had both, what should I be considering in my decision? I’m fine with the 2.5 and am looking at either the select or advanced trim packages.

How can I fix this DIY?

Over the left front wheel. Light bang into an object caused the blue plastic fasteners to snap. The panel itself is undamaged as far as I can tell but the it’s only partly attached now.

Anyone have an idea of cost to fix it? Looks like a very simple fix so wondering if I can do it myself.

On the fence about Trims

Hi everyone,

I am looking at the two variants of the GV70 Prestige 2.5 vs Sport 3.5. From my understanding the only reason why there is such a difference in cost is because of the engine change and the seat stitching? Is there anything else that I am missing? Cause if it's engine only, and the car is a already a bit of a guzzler, I don't see a reason to go for the 3.5

Infotainment/CarPlay Update

My infotainment system went through an update last night when I shut the car off, and today I noticed Google Maps can be displayed on both screens. I just hope that CarPlay Ultra fixes this gap on the screen. It looks terrible.

Is the GV70 reliable for high mileage use?

For anyone with a high mileage GV70. I need your insight and honest opinion. I really want the 3.5T. I may be starting a high travel job, driving about 35-45k miles per year. Gas is covered by company, so that isn’t an issue. Would it be reasonable to purchase a GV70 at 34k miles or does the car tend to break a lot? Please let me know.

GV70 phone compatibility

Are there any GV70 owners out there using a Google Pixel 10 Pro XL mobile phone? I’m just checking to see if there are any compatibility issues with our 2022 GV70. Our service provider has an phone upgrade available, but I’m not finding a list from Genesis anywhere. I’d appreciate your input.

Tailgate error

Does this happen to anyone? Tailgate opens an inch then shuts again? Happens whether I use remote, sensor, trunk button, etc.

Happens on my car all the time and the dealer can’t figure it (or just won’t fix it) out because not replicable. 25 gv70.

After this first happens, it won’t do it for the next hour or so. After that, gets stuck again.

Infuriating on a car with only 10000km on it.

Also getting front suspension / steering noises are low speeds like parking but that is an issue for another post.

Fuel type for GV70 for rental car

Hi, I'm renting a GV70. I need to refuel it soon and online it says that premium is highly recommended but the car will run on regular gas as well. Any advice on which one to use?

Genesis Buy Back

Has anybody received a good offer on a buy back?

Mine is a 2025 GV70 Leased 2.5T Prestige.
Around ~20k miles and well maintained with no major damage.

Is there any downside of me having them assess and quote me a number here?

What should I be looking at in terms of an offer here?
Note: This is a lease and around 70% of the lease is paid off.

Genesis GV70 Review

Loved the interior on this car, dark blue seats orange seat belts & an interior that just made sense functionally. Kinda bummed about the giant screen, but I love the physical controls & how it looks. I wish that the body roll might be a little less, but for the money this is a great car.

LOVE the new GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige but on the fence!

So I test drove the new Passport Elite Transport (in Orange!) AND LOVED I! and a top tier 3.5 Genesis GV70

The GV70 was fabulous. I owned a Honda Ridgeline (2024) and loved that too, so I figured it would drive the same as the passport but the Passport is Much nicer.

My concern is only with the new Honda J35Y8 engine, this new engine as cylinder deactivation (VCM) and there's a lot of scary details about this online, specifically the concern of carbon buildup due to VCM?

I watched the CarNut reviews guy on Youtube, link below, and he highlights all the good and bad, and its mostly a superb product but the engine seems to also still have a timing belt rather than chain. Also, Direct only injection rather than port and direct.

Im on the fence of buying the Transport Elite and would love to hear from actual owners as to whether or not I should be concerned about the timing belt and VCM ?

Im also considering the Genesis GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige, but thats a different vehicle class and about 20k more (which seems like a deal when you drive it). The Genesis has a premium interior and the engine has no vcm, it does have a timing chain and both direct and port injection.

Help, Im so torn! It's not a money issue as it is a brand issue, I love Honda but this new Honda is a mixed bag in the engine department. The Genesis is a much newer brand with very little issues from what I can tell (I've been trolling both forums) -- Honda has been around much longer and I've had fine luck with my last Honda, it was just boring. The GV70 is much more entertaining but I LOVE the look of the new Passport.

All feedback appreciated!

DC area Genesis owners - question

Where do you get your car serviced? I bought from Safford in Springfield and the service experience has steadily deteriorated:

Want to set up an appointment or talk to a tech? The AI agent at Safford will pull you into a phone loop. It’s very hard to reach a person

Need to order a part for service? They have very little inventory, so be prepared to wait for a week or two for parts.

Need to have the car serviced. Be prepared for work to take much longer than you expect, even for things you think might be routine. If for a recall repair, ha - forget about it.

It’s clear Genesis as a brand has sold many more cars than they can service. I’m thinking of trading mine for an Audi or BMW because it isn’t worth the aggravation.

Does anyone have a reliable tech or garage in the DC area? Or is a trade in my only option?

For those of you who traded in, what did you get?

Title pretty much says all. I love the car itself, I just hate the service, the paint chips, etc. Thinking about trading her in and curious what everyone else has decided over Genesis.

Bought today

Hi everyone. First post. You can see some of my old posts in the GV70.

Have to speak with my advisor I decided to lease verses purchasing. First lease in my life.

Incanada, it's the sports prestige line. Top.

I negotiated with them and I'm actually very pleased with what I received. 2.9% financing, and a very decent trade-in value, net of the GST which comes back as a credit.

It is the Ciera blue with the aquamarine orange stitched Napa leather interior

I have a 2026 Genesis GV70 3.5T Prestige. I thought the dark wheels it came with would grow on me, but nope! I love the Snowflake wheels on the G90, but they are not a direct fit on the GV70. They’re also $1600/wheel from the dealer😳 Anyone have experience switching wheels and finding a direct fit?

Got the dealership down but conflicted

I’ve been considering getting out of my 2023 Scat Pack
Charger.

They offered 34k, I owe 20k.

I was looking at 2026 3.5 SP GV 70 sticker price at 74.

I was able to get them down to about 57k at 3.49.

I ended up walking because I don’t think I’m ready to give up the engine. I think it’s also psychological in that while it’s an upgrade in luxury, it doesn’t feel like a real upgrade.

There is also a chance that 2023s are the last real V8 outside of a hellcat.

Thoughts?
