Dunlop 9” plane vs newer Stanley 12-204 — worth buying or wait for a No. 4?

Some pictures of the Dunlop Plane

Dunlop plane bottom

I’m looking at two planes right now: a 9” Dunlop and a newer Stanley 12-204. I’ll add pictures of the Dunlop. Both listed at 20 bucks

I’m leaning toward the Dunlop, but I don’t really know how good these are or how they compare to a vintage Stanley No. 4.

Would either of these be worth picking up, or should I just wait and find a vintage Stanley No. 4 instead?

I’m looking for a nice user that I could have for a long period of time - fine with cleaning it up and sharpening it, but I don’t want to put a bunch of work into something that’s not worth using.

How I feel like going through P/S with Anki

Taking me.... a WHOLE lot longer than I thought - cards are well and funny with mrpankow but still a lot of content. I was planning to go to chem/ochem and physics practice after finishing B/B but im glad I started earlier with this

at least with c/p there is a lot of just learning through problems (i think.)

Options for extending IEM cable to desktop?

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some advice on extending my IEM/headphone cable setup.

I’m using a Truthear Pure, and overall I really like it, but I’m running into an issue with cable length. My desktop PC sits on the floor, so when I plug directly into it, the cable is just a bit too short and tugs whenever I move my head.

I bought a 2.5 m aux extension cable, I think from Ugreen, but when I use it, the sound seems different compared to plugging in directly. I’m not sure if it’s because of the cable quality, added resistance, interference, or something else, but it definitely doesn’t sound quite the same to me.

Are there any better budget-friendly options for extending the cable without affecting sound quality? Would a better 3.5 mm extension cable help, or should I be looking at something like a small desktop DAC/amp, USB-C dongle with a longer USB cable, or another setup entirely?

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Budget options preferred.
