I just hooked up my first turntable and amp to a set of borrowed speakers. The turntable is a Pro-Ject Debut Evo 2 and I was able to pick up an ARCAM A5+ open box for $699 plus $50 for a 2 year extended warranty. I’m using a family members Focal bookshelf speakers until I can get my own. They may be spoiling me a bit, I’m not sure if they’ll be in my price range when I do end up getting my own, but the whole setup sounds great. I don’t know why I didn’t get in to vinyl sooner. I can see why people enjoy vinyl so much. Happy to be part of the club.

Can anybody tell me more about this? I got it at an antique store outside of Atlanta about 20 years ago and have had it mounted next to my fridge ever since. Recently moved, and made sure to pull it off the wall before I left my old place. It says “Starr X Open Here” on the bottom front and Made in USA on the back. It is magnetic, so guessing it’s not an aluminum reproduction. Would love to get some more info like approx. when it was made, was it some type of promo product, etc.
