The craziest thing about this story, he had a previous local conviction for the SAME THING:

Does Columbia not conduct background checks when hiring? And if they were aware of the previous charges and decided to hire him in this role anyway, wouldn’t they establish some procedures to guard against it happening again?

This reads like, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me…"

I’m in need of a full body skin check and I want to seen by an actual dermatologist with an M.D. (preferably female) rather than a person with less training that’s relying on an AI system to analyze photos. (I can get that at my normal doctor…) I’m also looking for a place that is more focused on medical necessity rather than trying to upsell aesthetic and medspa offerings.

Columbia seems to have several dermatologist offices, but it’s hard to tell which might be the best fit. Services will be self-pay (no insurance), so cost is a factor, but insurance network isn’t. Here’s what I’ve found so far:

• Central Missouri Dermatology & Mohs Skin Cancer Surgery (401 N. Keene St.) - Tied to Boone Hospital, I think.
• Dermatology Center of Columbia (204 N. Keene St.) - Independent?
• Cayce Dermatology Center (2011 Corona Rd.) - seems like medical dermatology is an afterthought to the medspa side of the business...
• University Physicians and Clinics Dermatology and Skin Surgery Center (1020 Hitt St.)
• Dermatology and Skin Surgery Center - Woodrail (4230 Phillips Farm Rd)

Any suggestions on who to contact and who to avoid?
