Realistically, when should I be following up?
Tale as old as time: package is stuck in Memphis. I've had many, many domestic and international packages get delayed in Memphis for days to a week, but I haven't had actual customs issues before.
My package is coming from Belgium and contains clothing. This is a company I've ordered from previously with no issues. It was shipped Intl Economy with signature required. The package was held up last Friday because they wanted an itemized breakdown of composition. The shipper emailed provided the info the same day (Friday May 15) before I even noticed the hold up. On Monday, I called the brokerage number (8883273395) to confirm that they had received everything they needed, and the woman I spoke to said everything looked fine on her end and they were just waiting for customs. I've gotten a handful of "on the way" updates since the shipper provided the paperwork. I understand those aren't real scans, just means it's sitting.....somewhere.
I have an insanely busy month coming up with lots of travel, so I don't have time spend hours on the phone chasing this package down. I know Memphis customs has a backlog (although it's very unclear to me how long is "normal" to sit in customs). But I want to make sure it doesn't disappear into the abyss! When should I start being concerned if it hasn't moved?
Edit: it shipped May 6 and original delivery date was May 14. So, 1 week late as of today.
