Got reported for academic integrity
yo, I’m at De Anza and I’m kinda stressing rn 😭
My professor told me he’s going to formally report me for academic integrity issues on 2 exams in the same class.
I’m not really posting this to argue about whether he’s right or wrong. I already decided I’m gonna be honest about everything, take responsibility for what I did, and cooperate with whatever process happens next.
I’m mostly just trying to figure out what happens after the report and how serious this can get.
This is my first time ever dealing with any formal academic integrity / disciplinary process, so I have no idea what to expect.
If anyone at De Anza/Foothill has been through this before:
how long did it take for Student Affairs / the board to contact you?
did you have to do a meeting or hearing?
did they let you explain your side?
what punishment did you end up getting? warning, probation, F, suspension, etc.
has anyone gotten reported for 2 exams from the same class?
realistically, how likely is suspension?
if you’re an international student, did this mess with your F-1 status at all?
I know every case is different and Reddit isn’t official advice lol. I’m gonna talk to my counselor / international student advisor too.
Just wanna hear from people who actually went through it because I’m lowkey freaking out rn 😭
Thanks y’all.
