Music

I’m very tempted to switch from my Garmin to Coros, but I love being able to download music onto my Garmin.

Is there any way to have music on your Coros whatsoever?

Potential switch from Garmin to Coros - Questions

I’m a Garmin user considering switching to COROS and wanted to make sure I’m not missing anything before my purchase. Here were a few questions I had, appreciate any input:

1-Sleep mode: Does COROS have a scheduled sleep mode that dims/turns off the screen and disables notifications? Can you set a haptic/vibration alarm to wake you up?

2-Adaptive training: I love Garmin’s Daily Suggested Workouts and adaptive training plans. COROS seems to be working on more personalized/adaptive training features. Does anyone know what’s coming and when it’s expected?

3-Recovery metrics: How good are COROS’s recovery metrics? Can you see things like HRV and resting heart rate trends/out-of-range notifications to help identify when you may be getting run down or sick?

4-Spotify download: Are you able to download Spotify playlists to your watch? Can you Bluetooth connect your Coros watch to AirPods?

5-Garmin → COROS: For anyone who has made the switch, what Garmin feature did you miss the most or find significantly better on Garmin after switching? Also vice versa, anything way better on Coros?

Appreciate any insight!

Partnering with a CPA firm to build out WM service

I’m curious if any advisors here have taken their existing book and merged it into a CPA firm that’s building out a wealth management arm that already has some AUM.

The idea being: bring the book, help build and grow the practice together, leverage the CPA relationship/client base, leverage additional planning capabilities with CPA expertise, and ultimately create something where everyone wins financially and clients have better, more holistic experience.

Has anyone actually done this? Would love to hear how it went or how you structured it.

Additional context:

This CPA firm already has some duel CPA/CFPs on staff and they have maybe 10-15m AUM I’m guessing. This is regarding if I were to merge my book with theirs and we grow it and leverage the additional leadflow from the CPA book of clients. Appreciate the insight ahead of time.

To do a free OPP for a prospect or not to do?

I have struggled with formulating a process for prospects and whether to create a free OPP (one page plan) for them or not, and if so - what to put on it.

I do generally like the idea of getting information from a prospect, and giving them some sort of deliverable as it acts as a “commitment gate” for tire kickers. They aren’t going to waste time gathering that info if they’re not serious.

However, once I get general info (rough account balances, income, goals, etc) it makes me want to enter all of this into a planning software to really analyze for items to put on the OPP. This is very time consuming for someone who may not become a client and I’m sort of “giving away” what an actual client gets.

For those that do free OPP, what’s your process of creating it?

For those that don’t do a OPP, what do your meetings look like?

Thank you ahead of time, can’t wait to hear your opinions.

Prospecting - younger advisor

I know this question has likely been asked before. However, I felt it’s always good to get updates on what’s working for everyone.

As a younger advisor shifting more into a business development role, I am really eager to hear advice on successful advisors prospecting processes and strategies. Any tips, or philosophy behind how you’ve been able to generate AUM on your own without starting with a large book or being passed clients by your boss, etc - what’s your advice?

I’m willing to pour all my energy into this, but I want to make sure I’m going about it the right way.

Thank you in advance, I appreciate it!
