Issue with Dynavolt Lithium Battery
Just thought I post it here for everyone awareness.
I ride a 2019 CBR650R ABS daily and recently swapped out my aging Koyoko AGM battery with a new Dynavolt Lithium battery. The engine crank up and started perfectly after swapping to the new battery. However, I started observing weird problems during my daily ride to/from work.
Observations while at normal riding speeds:
- ABS light starts to blink and go off indicating ABS restarted. I confirmed that I can lock up the tyres when the light is blinking.
- my speedometer straight up rebooted (power off and power on) while I’m riding.
- the emergency braking blinker lights activate randomly although I’m not even braking.
The above symptoms happens almost on every ride randomly with no way of replicating it. It just straight up happen without you knowing it.
My suspect is that, there is a voltage drop/spike caused by the battery’s BMS (battery management system). However, since it happens only when I’m riding, there is no way for me to hook it up to a multimeter and produce concrete evidence for a warranty claim or refund.
Looks like I’m heading back to AGM batteries since there is no resolution in sight for this issue.
