How to roleplay the Umbra and the Garou Politics?

I've been running a WTA5 chronicle for almost two years now. With a few hiatus here and there, but, pretty fun considering all.

But, one thing that always bothered me was the interaction with the Umbra and the politics of the Garou.

See, even after two years running this game, i feel like i don't know alot about the universe of WTA. I mean, i studied of course, but couldn't wrap my head around it.

So, how do you run the Umbra? And the spirits? Specially the Spirits. I've read that the Umbra now is hard to enter and the spirits are more hostile towards Garou and i run it like that for a while, but, it makes very hard to gather new gifts and powers.

And the Garou politics? I understand the Vampire politics like the back of my hand, but, i couldn't get right the Garou one. Like, renown, the packs, the dynamics of a caern. I just don't know how to make drama out of it since everybody is (mostly) on the same side. Maybe it was how i run my chronicle (if the players gathering new Garou to help an abandoned Caern), but, i feel like everything just go to smoothly, you know?

Anyway, i need some ideas on how to do it. I really like WTA, but, is veeeeery diferent from my usual moody and dramatic chronicles of VTM.

How to run a one-shot of Hunter: The Reckoning?

I've runned HTR5 a few times, but only as a full one chronicle and a few years ago. But, a friend of mine is really excited to try it (bought the book and all!) So i agreed in run a one-shot for him and a few others.

So, here's the problem: I'm terrible running one-shots.

It's a group joke that all of my one-shots have, at least, two sessions. What it's fine and all, but, it's not only about time management. We all laugh and have fun at the end of the day even if we took a few sessions more. This time the problem is about structure.

See, i'm brazilian, and here we have a very popular RPG called "Ordem Paranormal", or "Paranormal Order", that's is very simmilar in aesthetic with Hunter (at least in lower levels).

In O.P we have a very simple session structure for one-shots: Player arrive in the investigation place; they look around, talk with NPCs, see a few scary stuff and then the session ends with a climatic battle against a creature.

VtM usually have an act structure, of things happening and all (Like in Auld Sanguine, or Midnight Kiss) that is very easy to wrap my head around, but, Hunter? That's diferent to me, at least.

When i runned H5, my players had something happen (a murder, something like that) and their investigation grew bigger and bigger as they uncovered more about their target. It easily took them a few good sessions of investigations and preparations for them really go to strike against the supernatural.

How do i compile all of this in a one shot format? Hunter is specially lethal to players, and preparation is a big part of the game. Study the target, weaken them and all of that. So, any tips are more then welcome.

And sorry for any gramatical mistakes. As i said before, english is clearly not my first language and i'm from my phone.
