What Are My MBA Chances and How Do I Set Myself Up for T25/M7 Admission?
I recently graduated with a finance degree, a 3.85 GPA, and Latin honors from my school's honors program at a non-target public state school. I'm about to begin my career as a Supply Chain Financial Analyst at a large Fortune 500 CPG company (HQ role).
I interned there last summer, but I had been actively recruiting for consulting throughout college. I made it to the final round at McKinsey, ultimately didn't pass, and my other consulting opportunities dried up alongside the broader industry recruiting contraction, hitting non-target schools especially hard.
In terms of extracurriculars, I was heavily involved on campus: founder and president of a fraternity, founder and president of a separate student organization, project lead for my school's consulting club, international experience in AI, and involvement across several other student organizations.
I’m looking to get an MBA. My goal is a T25 program, ideally M7 if I can position myself well. I'm planning to work 2-5 years before applying, so roughly looking at matriculating somewhere in the 2027-2030 window. A few questions for the community:
- What should I be doing over the next few years to maximize my chances at top programs?
- How does my profile look from an admissions standpoint?
- Any general advice or things you wish you'd known, or mistakes to avoid?
