Hamish McHalfpint having a calm moment
He’s going through a hyper-alert phase at the moment, barking at things that he'd previously ignore, so it’s lovely to see him having a calm moment…

Hamish, not content with eviscerating Puppy McPupface a few days ago, now goes into mad shaking mode. His fur at the end of it is adorable
Hamish (Cairn) and Max having crazy zoomies. They had been zooming for a couple of mins before this and continued upstairs afterwards. they are such buddies…. Benny (our other ragdoll) joined in the upstairs zoomies at the end of it
They are such good boys at treat time, sitting for their treats (along with Hamish McHalfpint the Cairn). They are all patient as they take their turns 🥰
After yesterday’s post, Hamish would like everyone to know that he is back to being a good boy overnight and this morning. He says he was just very spooked by the terrifying screech of the thing called “owl”. And surely it’s obvious that very other barking is necessary to keep burglars away and is entirely necessary
I know Cairns are barkers, but now he's 12 months old Hamish has started barking at sounds he used to ignore. This includes sounds from the tv which he never bothered with before. What’s more, once he starts, he’s hard to get to calm down. Last night, at around 1:30am an owl started screeching outside. We knew Hamish would bark a bit as it was quite the sound, but he then he started literally howling and barking madly. I got up to go to quiet him (he's in the kitchen downstairs and we're in a semidetached house, so I was thinking of the neighbours). It took an age to get him to stop, even with his favourite peanut butter stuffed Kong, and his lick tray. After he eventually calmed down, I went back to bed. Within half an hour he was off again (no owl audible to us at this point). I went down again, and sat with the tv. On, to give a ‘normal and ok’ vibe). Eventually he calmed again and I went back to bed. 30 mins later off he goes again. My husband went down. It took about 35 mins before Hamish was finally calm and sleepy. He¡s adorable as you can see, but this behaviour is driving us crazy!
