Best chew toy
She lost your baby’s favorite chew toy!
Why don’t we exchange photos of our Cairn’s favorite chew toy?
What: hard plastic alligator
Why: he’s had it over a year and it has hardly any war at or year.
From: WalMart
He takes it with him everywhere he goes. It’s his favorite toy and the rest pretty much just sit in the toy box.
Your turn!
In memory of Mollie, not a cairn but best friend to two of them. See went to sleep this evening and is playing with coco again ❤️
Bella getting a haircut from me 🥰 I’m a hairdresser I always cut her hair ❤️
Love Languages
Keanu's love language ❤️❤️
He is 24/7 with a ball. There must be a minimum of 10 balls like this in his crate, on the bed, in the kitchen, under the bed, outside, in the family room. He shows his love and knows he's loved by playing ball with us.
One of my favorite moves of his is when he stands up on the side of the bed, ball in mouth, perfectly calculates angle and distance of the target, then snaps the ball at one of us.
What is your cairn's love language? (other than treats and food, those are love language for all cairns...)
Ryker supervising my painting work.
"It's a poor job indeed that can't stand one supervisor" as my Dad used to say!
The best boy!
Happy birthday to the best boy in the world. I can’t believe he’s already three years old.
When she thinks nobody is looking
Slowly eating away at the bowl until she can sneak a grape 🤣
Also no I didn’t give her any, I know it’s bad for her!!
This was Chewy
Last weekend I had to say goodbye to my sweet dear companion Chewy. She was almost 17 and has always been a buttery warm glowing light in my life. She had such a caring, loving personality - she loved all people and always gave so much love to everyone. Always the center of attention. She especially loved me. I'll miss scritching her little chin. I can still feel her sitting in my lap. I can smell her earthy paw smell still. I will always remember her basking in the sun. Hug your dogs for me. Goodbye Chewy <3 <3 <3
Little Cairn Mix, Named Alice
I do not know how I got so lucky. I was so lost and sad when Alice came into my orbit. You might remember my post searching for a Cairn after my Lucy was gone.
Meet Alice. I saw her in a photo a localish shelter posted with someone carrying her and thought I'd see if she was available. Turns out she wasnt doing great in the shelter after her puppies had been adopted out but no one would take her because she was skittish and would shake and do a nervous poop out of fear.
The day I met her she did one poop. She has never done another and when she goes on car rides you can see how happy she is. She had been home two weeks and while she is still fearful she's made far more progress than I ever expected. She has her forever home and while I am angry no one wanted to give her a Chance, I am grateful, too, because now she's truly home.
Hand stripping before/ after
Vaila is 1yr, 4 mos and has her first ever appointment with a groomer. It took about 2 hours. Groomer was mostly unable to get her face and back bc puppy's patience ran out.
Cracking up about her different facial expression and body language before and after. Also the 1000-yard-stare in the pic with her fluff ball.
Edit: clarification -- I took her to a groomer. She's too feisty with me to tolerate a full strip, and I've only gotten a few bits here and there. She also absolutely will not let me trim her nails, but she allowed the groomer to just fine.
Winter is coming, and Benson is ready
He seemed very happy to put his jacket on, too. Came over happily, sat down politely, started running around gleefully once it was done. I'd almost say he was proud.
Someone decided to be cute
Chilli decided she should be in the bag where we planned to put our package delivery.
Every morning before work, it’s cookie time and then back to bed
Advice on being calm in public
Any advice on training or training videos to keep cairn calm in public without constant correction.
She’s very friendly but it gets excessive. She has a hard time sitting still and staying quiet when there are strangers around.
Any advice? She’s 6 yo.
