Perfect cot/bed for dogs

We have four small dogs. Two dachshunds who are mother and daughter, a Cavapoo, and a Cairn Terrier.

Three out of four ain’t bad. They just love this cot. I’m going to get another one for a different part of the house. I also donated 2 to the local rescue.

I throw a blanket on top, otherwise when they scratch at it, eventually, the cot won’t be usable

ISP

For four years, doctors haven't been able to figure out what’s going on with my heart. Then this past July, thinking I just had a bad case of the flu, I ended up in the clinic with an insanely high heart rate and dangerously high blood pressure.

Looking through my online medical records, I saw my doctor noted IST (Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia). That hit me hard—it’s the exact condition my mother died from.

I survived sudden cardiac death 35 years ago, so heart issues aren't new to me, but seeing IST on my chart feels deeply personal and heavy.

I’m seeing my cardiologist next week, so I don't need a medical diagnosis. I just want to know:

What is daily life actually like when you live with IST?

Me and my shadow

She visited me and she loves to gamble. So we took her to the casino.

I live in the Midwest, she lives in Texas. Yes, we can feel each other. Yes, we know when the other one is having health issues or is injured.

We talk every single day.

Too many stressors right now

I had a breakdown two nights ago.

A favored granddaughter gets married this weekend. We have events, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I will be meeting people I have never met with, and I am full of trap edition over it.

I forgot to take my anxiety medicine Sunday and Monday.

My daughter’s work is going through Fruitbasket upset and they are moving quite a few of her people offshore.

My daughter‘s wonderful dog of 17 years passed this week.

The current world, environment and weather as well as a lot of other stuff he’s really getting to me.

That’s a lot of people‘s emotions to deal with all in the same week. So yeah, I had a breakdown.

Words of wisdom? Encouragement? Support?

What do I need to know about these dogs?

This is a more open ended question than I usually see on here. I want you to tell me what I need to know about these animals. Whatever comes to you.

Lamotrigine

I think we’ve all heard that lamotrigine is a great drug. At least for most of us. And it has been for me for several years now.

But for the third time in the same number of years, I forgot to put it into my medicine boxes.

I almost had my husband admit me before I realized I needed to check that.

Just a vent

Smart Kiddo

Max is the smartest little guy. I bet all of your terriers are smart.

Today he finally brought the route back instead of playing keep away with it.

Three cheers for Max

I’m looking for your input and opinions

Last night, I had some interesting experiences. I’m wondering if you can help me figure out what’s going on. I’m not asking for your diagnosis. I am asking for things to ask the doctor about.

First, when I was an itty-bitty child, 4 years, I was in a bad car accident thrown from the car broke my orbital bone and my skull broke at the periatal. The orbital was on the left side. At eight I had a concussion. There was a lot of damage other than that but nothing that would’ve caused last night’s experience.

I have never had a seizure, I have had one TIA. I had three concussions. I had heart failure and was dead for 14 minutes. I have diagnosis of BP2, PTSD, and GAD.

As a child in school, I excelled. But I was extremely introverted and still cannot stand crowds.

So, last night. My husband and I were watching TV and visiting at the same time. I had bent over to pet my dog and as I sat back up I experienced dizziness. That is not unusual for me. It started with dizziness, then I got very, very afraid. After that, things went fast.

I was nauseous, I was excessively fatigued, I could not communicate or understand my husband.

My husband said it looked like I was having a seizure.

Healthy recipe for oatmeal

Most will tell you you can’t have oatmeal if you’re diabetic. Well, you shouldn’t eat packaged oatmeal, if you use steel cut oats or old-fashioned oats they’re fine. The secret is to have more “other“ ingredients than oatmeal.

This recipe is a family recipe because our family is diabetic. If you’d like more protein, you can add an egg. Make sure the egg is completely beaten and temper it before you add it.

Directions:
cook oatmeal per package directions
Turn to simmer and add the brown sugar, stir in completely.
Add raisins, stir completely.
Add cream and butter and stir completely

Remove the pan from the heat and stir in flaxseed and pecans.

When it’s cooled (until steaming stops) add your vanilla.

And don’t tell me you don’t like oatmeal! My partner said the same thing until I cooked him some. Apparently his mother cooked it until it was bone dry, and hard to chew.

Best chew toy

She lost your baby’s favorite chew toy!

Why don’t we exchange photos of our Cairn’s favorite chew toy?

What: hard plastic alligator

Why: he’s had it over a year and it has hardly any war at or year.

From: WalMart

He takes it with him everywhere he goes. It’s his favorite toy and the rest pretty much just sit in the toy box.

Your turn!
