What car to get in these trying times?

Hey guys, looking for some advice. I’m currently driving a manual Proton Wira that’s definitely showing its age. I wasn’t planning on changing it, but with the upcoming RM300k EV floor price rule and subsidies dropping, I’m thinking I should probably upgrade now before prices get weirder.

My colleague suggested a used hybrid (HEV) for my use case, but I’m torn between going new EV, used hybrid, new petrol, or used petrol.

For context, I do a 50-70km round trip daily to and from the JB checkpoints.

A few main things I’m looking for:
- Don't need anything huge or fancy. Most of the time it’s just me, my gf, and occasionally some family.
- My biggest dealbreaker: I absolutely hate everything being on a digital screen. I need proper physical buttons/dials for basic stuff like aircon, lights, and wipers. No menu-diving while driving.
- I don't really do long-distance road trips, so range isn't a massive issue, just want something reliable that's easy to maintain.

P.S. I actually love driving manual. If there’s a reliable manual car out there that fits the bill, I am totally open to it.
P.S.S. And no proton, I’m not supporting the guys that made this rule come to fruition to begin with.

What would you guys recommend?
