Bought a used i5 14600k off Amazon
Works for the most part but crashes on some games
Crashed on SWTOR but seems to work after tweaking
Crashed on AC Odyssey but also seems to work after tweaking
Won't stop crashing on Watch Dogs Legion (don't judge my taste lol)
The seller seemed legit, so I wasn't expecting a bad buy, and the fact that it works on two games now makes me wonder if it might just be me.
Idk, I have a large enough library to test more but man I really did not want to spend my days off like this.
My rig is:
- H670 steel legend
- i5 14600k (used) 1.25 vdd_imc voltage and -5v (ai suggested -0.050v but I wasn't able to enter that value so I went with the smallest negative I could enter)
- Arc A770 16gb
- Patriot 32gb ram at 4000mhz, 1.45v
Upgraded from an i3 14100 and everything ran fine with that.
Should also note that when I first installed the i5 I got the Intel notification to update and the first attempt to update failed due to "corrupt files" and I had to restart and update the CPU graphics and redownload/install the latest Intel GPU graphics patch.
Something told me to check my apps and I found one from "nefarious 'something' studios", which I immediately uninstalled but I know enough to know you don't just uninstall viruses like that.
So idk.... Idk lol.
