I need suggestion regarding opening a 529 account for my elder kid. She was born in India and is on h4 visa. We got her itin number for filing taxes. Can I open 529 account for her? The rule says "Naming the Beneficiary: To open the account, you will need to list yourself or another eligible family member with an SSN as the beneficiary. Once your child obtains an SSN or ITIN in the future, you can easily transfer the beneficiary status to them."
