Sardinia - we booked a car for rent, paid etc
At place we needed to wait 90 minutes due to only one lady at service. It took her 30min to process one reservation. Ours was declined service due to credit card deposit expire date was too close for them.
We did not know that, lady assured us that discovercars.com would refund us and we can try to find a car at different vendor. She made us a copy of document to present to discovercars.com to receive a refund.
We uploaded a claim for refund and it was declined. They don't want to give us money back for un-used reservation. They did not provide any service and still want our money.
In result we rented a car at the airport at some local vendor. It was 30% cheaper with full insurance, lower deposit. Deposit on debit card. 0 problems. 10 minutes later we had the keys.
For comparison, for discovercars.com we waited more time trying to get support on hotline than we needed for another reservation.
We, people, should stop paying money to middle man that is not providing any additional value and in case of any problems just decline any help.
