DCP in resolve with rec709(scene) output
Hello everybody,
I was about to create a DCP using the free kakadu codec with Davinci resolve, and I just had a doubt.
My master is exported from a Davinci resolve session graded in a calibrated monitor (rec709 gamma 2.4) connected via Decklink.
The thing is, as the main computer is a Macbook, I kept the output color space of the timeline in Rec709(scene), as the new update of Resolve make it have an accurate image also on the macbook screen. If I select wether rec709(scene) or rec709 gamma 2.4 doesnt change anything on the calibrated / decklink monitor though.
Now, when I import my exported master in the DCP project, if I set the output colorspace in rec709 gamma 2.4, the blacks become crushed. I checked also with my grading monitor connected, and changing the output color space doesn't change anything as well. So I guess the output color space is just a matter of display.
But I'm wondering what should I put as an output color space to ensure a good conversion of my master to the DCP color space ? Rec709(scene) or Rec709 gamma 2.4 ? Does it change something?
Thanks a lot !
