how to be a good partner ?

I am in my 20s and just now deciding to enter the dating scene. I was never interested in dating in high school or during my teens. Now that I'm beginning to get older, I'm starting to feel more ready. I am wondering if anyone could give some good tips about how to be a good partner, since I haven't had much experience, and I know I'm unfortunately a person who, at times, can get anxious and pull away from people. But I don't want to put someone through that, because I know it's not fair to the other person. This is kind of all over the place, but my main reason for writing this is just any advice for dating for the first time, maybe things to look out for, or things to make sure I'm doing. Also, maybe how to know if something is worth bringing up? I have a hard time deciding if an issue is worth bringing up to people or if I'm just overreacting. Any advice will help, thank you :)
