Hi, sorry I'm new to this. I'm looking at buying a house & one of my considerations is whether I'd be able to get an EV. i.e. ideally a driveway where I could put a charging post.

One house I'm interested in has this parking space across the alley. There's a whole row of garages that side, so I may just need to ask around if any of them have an electric connection, I guess.

My question is whether this is a non-starter for an EV post, anyone know? Maybe councils absolutely ban laying a cable under/across a public road (even if it is a back alley)? Kinda feel like it should be *possible*, though...

To be clear, I don't have an EV yet and I wouldn't necessarily do the work immediately when buying the house. I'm less interested in whether if it'd be difficult/expensive (although sure any advice welcome & I'll peruse the rest of the sub) but if it's a complete no then I may not buy the house.

P.S. I could park out the back (where most cars are) along the road & just use a cable, but would seem a shame not to use the parking space.
