AITA in this conversation
I moved to a new town, made a post on the WhatsApp group because I’m trying to build a website business. I asked if anyone was in need. This guy messaged me. Told me what he did for context then we met on it. He had me do a session of his training to learn about the company. Then I made a demo site and a proposal and he said our work is an even trade. I explained why it’s not and things went south. He said I needed his business because of my health issues and he doesn’t need mine cause he makes 6 figures. I responded letting him know I didn’t appreciate my health being brought into it and he responded with “Whoa, (name). My apologies, not sure where things got lost in translation in such a way for you to be taking offense to my response.
“I can’t remember correctly but I’m pretty sure you were to one who first made an announcement on the (name) group and when I reached out you said you’d actually be needing my help. The exchange seemed like the next logical avenue.
Bringing up your current health isn’t an attack just a matter of fact. The only reason why it’s brought up is because after my first intro assessment (which I also didn’t charge you for) you realized how important this could be.”
When he initially reached out saying he needed a website I asked what it was he did and when he said physical therapy I said oh I MAY benefit from that. May is not a definitive word also I was being friendly.
When I told him the pricing isn’t fair this was his response:

From what you’ve broken down, a few things stand out for me.
1: In the age of AI, who is actually willing to spend $24K on a website.
2: While my sessions are time based, the benefit of bringing this level of knowledge and attention to your body is arguably priceless. I am not sure what can be more “permanent” or in this case pertinent to your health given everything you’re dealing with on that end for some time now.
3: My intention on the exchange was merely to make this suitable for us both. As it stands, I don’t “need” a website to continue running my business- I’ve been helping educate people (though at the small volume I prefer) since 2014. Last year alone, my income in the 6 figures- entirely by the grace of God. I personally believe he puts the people I need to help along my path, but that’s just my faith talking ☺️
In conclusion, however you slice it, we can agree on the following: we can humbly say that at the moment, you need to build your strength, regenerate your neuroplasticity and get back control of your body, more than I need an asset to generate business. But you have your specialty so if you want to leverage that in exchange for my guidance and support- I am open to it.
