I (26M) graduated in 2017 and was valedictorian of my class. Our high school reunion is coming up next year, and apparently our class president made an Instagram page back in January to start organizing things (polls, ideas, committee, etc.).

The page followed me months ago, but I didn’t really think much of it. It’s still a year away, and nothing major was happening yet, so I just kind of ignored it and assumed everyone else in our class probably knew about it too.

Fast forward to recently—I was hanging out with a group of my close high school friends (we’ve all known each other for about 10 years and still keep in touch regularly). The topic of reunions came up, and I casually asked if they followed the reunion page.

Turns out… none of them even knew it existed. Apparently the page never followed them, even though we’re all in the same graduating class.

Now they’re upset with me because I knew about it since January and never mentioned it. They said they would’ve expected me to bring it up or at least tell the page to add them, and that from their perspective it feels like I just didn’t bother including them.

From my side, I genuinely didn’t think it was a big deal at the time. I assumed they either already knew or would find out eventually, especially since it’s still pretty far out. It never crossed my mind that they’d be left out or that I had some responsibility to loop them in.

So now I’m wondering—AITAH for not saying anything earlier?
