When do you know it is time to move out of your parents' home as an adult?

I’m 26 and decided to live with my parents because my dad travels a lot, and I don't want to leave my mom alone at home. I help out a lot with food and household expenses, which I’m happy to do, but sometimes I feel very drained and like I’m “walking on eggshells.” For example, when I sit on the couch, my mom will rush over and move pillows as if I’m dirty. Then, she gets an attitude or looks annoyed if she thinks I unplugged something or left a light on. It’s very emotionally draining, and I always ask for permission to sit on the couch or do simple things, out of fear of her attitude at times. Her moods are random and often triggered by small situations. My biggest fear is leaving my mother alone since we share a special bond, and her relationship with my dad is very toxic. I'm the only child who is always there for her, but I have to consider my mental and physical health because I can get unwell easily. When did you figure out it was time to leave your parents’ home? I still want to maintain a relationship with my parents without living with them.
