I’ve just completed rewatching every episode in chronological order for what is likely the 50th time in my life. In no way is that an exaggeration, in fact it’s almost certainly understating it.

The last few rewatches I’ve been doing the extended, Superfan versions on Peacock. These are particularly excellent because I always get surprised by a line or two that I hadn’t remembered or heard in the original viewings.

Now with all that said, this most recent rewatching made me aware of something that I now feel quite strongly:

I HATE Phyllis!

Pam does call it out in season 9 that she’s “a bully” but it goes so much further beyond just being a bully. She’s actively terrible and mean. She’s condescending, self righteous, and believes she’s better than everyone else in the office. However, the moment that really tipped the scale was when she was listening to the 50 Shades of Grey audiobook. Apart from it being disgusting, for her to believe it’s okay to do that really pissed me off.

Anyway, I’d love to hear if people agree or disagree. I’ll admit it’s definitely a progressive thing, with her worst behavior coming in the last 2-3 seasons, but still, I hate her.
