Adjustment period-meleya birth control

I am almost done with my third month of meleya- progesterone only mini pill. my dr finally convinced me to try birth again after being off hormonal birth control for over a year. i previously had the mirena and got it taken out after not feeling good on it. I take sertraline and that helped me with the emotional issues of pmdd but I was still having chronic joint pain that flared up during luteal plus fatigue. with the emotional component gone the physical symptoms were more obvious and birth control was supposed to help.

I have basically felt like I’m in low grade version of Luteal for the past few weeks. it’s not as bad but I realized the relief of ovulation is not coming….. I’m wondering if I should give it more time or stop taking this. I think I prefer the ups and downs of pain and exhaustion rather than just this low grade prolonged Luteal phase with no end in sight. usually planning how long I need rest and extra self care before getting more energy and pain relief makes the Luteal phase manageable mentally. is 2.5 months long enough to adjust to this? I feel so awful and want to stop but I want to give it enough chance to help. Help :(
