Finally resigned.

Hi.

I’m 29, and I’ve been working at an Asian company since I was 18 while also attending university.

For 5 years, I worked from 7 AM until 10 PM, had to work Saturdays, got yelled at constantly, and had to do everything my boss requested (which was usually just an order from the director that he forwarded to me as a screenshot).
After countless periods of burnout, depression, anxiety, and really dark thoughts… I finally resigned.

I was paid very well, but eventually I reached a point where no amount of money could compensate for the burnout and mental exhaustion.

Right now, I’m thinking about taking a break, traveling a little, studying game development and cybersecurity (I learned the basics in university), visiting some friends abroad, and trying to figure out what I truly want to do with my life.

Thankfully, I still live with my parents and don’t have major expenses.
I also have some savings because I was originally planning to get married to my ex when we were together.

Still, after earning a high salary for so long and getting used to spending accordingly, I honestly don’t know how to feel about everything.
At some point, I started feeling anxious about leaving behind the salary I used to make, and now I also feel anxious about not having a concrete plan yet.

I would really appreciate hearing your opinions or experiences if anyone has gone through something similar.

Love you guys.
