So I and my friend, both in our early 30s is on a trip to celebrate my first house. She is much more well off than me due to her family and also cause I’ve just took a big sum of my savings for the down payment. She suggested going on a trip to celebrate and I agreed to it with the prerequisite that it was going to be budget. She knows of my daily budget etc so for the last few days on the trip while she has been shopping non stop at Gucci and Prada I followed along without buying anything.
Today we walked past a local fancier restaurant and she really wanted to eat there however it was out of my budget. They were doing a 2 for 1 deal of 6 “mini” course so I suggest that. Also we are in a foreign land and I can only somewhat decently understand English. We aren’t English speakers. The deal was really good so I asked her if we could have that but one of the course had sea snails(very famous local fish). She said it was ok and didn’t ask me to translate the other dishes. I also did ask her if fish were ok but she didn’t give me an answer.
We went in sat down and this was what came out

The food came and she immediately frowned and made a disgusted face. And she started pointing out how she can’t eat calamari or snails or the fish. I pointed out I asked her about the fish and she said she can’t eat that specific type of fish cause it isn’t nice or something. So seeing she can’t eat that three course I offered my fries, meatballs and brownies to her which she then somewhat finished halfway before telling me she was stuffed and can’t eat anymore.
After we were done she told me I should pay around 30% of her portion because she said it was my fault I failed to warn her about the food and she couldn’t eat half of it and because she let me have a few bites of the fries and meatballs and brownie before passing it to her, I basically have the full course while she only had half. The thing is I didn’t touch her calamari, snails or meatball portion at all cause I was stuffed as well.
I said no, this wasn’t our agreement and I translate because I was being nice. She learnt English in school like me but didn’t care enough for it. If she wanted the full menu I could also have searched up everything for her. But she can’t pull this idea up last minute. She paid for her share but hasn’t talk to me since.
