Help!! Bought My MacBook Yesterday. Spilled Water On It Today.
Update - based on the applecare suggestions, checked in with my parents on when this was bought (as they gifted it to me yesterday), turns out it was bought a couple months ago. So, there goes applecare
This is probably the 1000th post you’ve seen on this sub about water damage…
I spilled water on my macbook air….and this is what the screen looks like now.
I literally bought this MacBook last night. And my genius self decided to skip AppleCare to “save money” 🤡
The second the water fell, I shut the laptop down immediately kept it in the sun for about 30 minutes, then brought it inside and left it under the fan for around 6 hours.
Now before you all yell at me, yes my curiosity got the best of me and I turned it on after 6 hours and turned it off in 5 seconds. But the screen damage still looks exactly the same from when I turned it off. I promise I’m not touching it again for the next two weeks 😭
Getting the screen replaced at an Apple Service Center is not really an option for me right now because I genuinely cannot afford to sell another arm and leg for this laptop.
So please… give me some hope 🥲
Tell me if this happened to you and it got better. Did the patches fade away over time? Is there anything I can do at this point besides pray?
(Also don’t roast me!! I’ve already done enough of that to myself)!!
