My son just started soccer this year and I didn’t expect hydration to become such a thing. He comes home completely exhausted, drenched in sweat and somehow still barely drinks water unless I remind him constantly. I’ve always just packed a regular water bottle and assumed that was enough but I’m seeing other parents bring electrolyte drinks, hydration powders and all kinds of sports snacks.

Part of me feels like water should be fine for kids but another part of me wonders if I’m underestimating how much they lose during practices and games. For parents with really active kids, what do you actually pack for hydration and recovery?
