Does automatic channel selection work in bridge mode?

I got an eero max 7 last week and I use it in bridged mode. My wired router runs OpenWrt where the internet comes in which is a poor place for wifi. Running in bridge lets me put the eero in a central location.

I’ve been checking the channels it uses and it‘s on 1, 36, and 85 which I believe are the defaults. Has anyone running in bridge seen channel changes? I know there’s patch notes a few years old saying it was added but it’s really strange the channels haven’t changed. There are a lot of 5ghz routers near me as I live in an apartment so there’s no way the defaults are the most optimal

Gemini 3.7 flash with extended thinking keeps returning stale information

https://preview.redd.it/3qot6h7xbgjh1.png?width=1290&format=png&auto=webp&s=da1ac657caf724e582df8d39ec89fa02d72b4279

When asked about the best AI models for coding it keeps returning stale information. It recommends Sonnet 3.7 and below it recommends Gemini 2.5 Pro. Is there a way to get it to search more aggressively? I don’t run into this issue with the other models.

If I tell it the suggestions are out of date it will eventually search and recommend the latest models. The problem is if I’m asking it about something I’m not familiar with I won’t know to do that and so I can’t really trust the answers fully.

I‘ve also tried asking it to search in the initial prompt but it still doesn’t help.

Elecom Huge Plus owners - how do you feel about it now?

The Huge Plus has been out for awhile now and the honeymoon period should be over.

Are you still liking it? Did you still switch from a different trackball?

I’m thinking of maybe picking one up to finally give roller bearings a try but there are also a lot of good trackballs on the horizon.

iD4 list of reported failures I found

I'm interested in buying a used 2023 iD4 and have been doing some research on failure points I've seen posted on Reddit and other forums. Since I'm not an owner I'd appreciate if others could chime in if I missed something. Hopefully it can be a useful list to others looking to buy one in the future too.

  1. Charge Port Lock Actuator Failure

The motorized actuator that locks and unlocks the charging port flap can fail. This leaves the charge door permanently stuck open or locked closed.

  1. Infotainment Hardware Failures

MIB3 computer unit can cause screens to go completely black, fail to boot, or crash mid-drive.

  1. LED Headlight Burnout

Heat generated by the LEDs can melt or yellow the internal plastic light bar, eventually leading to a complete bulb or circuit failure.

  1. Premature Sway Bar / Suspension Wear

Plastic sway bar links wear out causing a loud, metallic clunking or knocking noise over speed bumps.

  1. Glitched Windows and Regulator FailuresR

When rolling the driver or passenger window up, the window will suddenly reverse and roll all the way down.

  1. Inaccurate GPS location

Issues with the communication module can cause the car to report inaccurate GPS location, sometimes as far as 150 miles away impacting navigation.

How often do you do dealership service and how much do you pay?

I'm looking at buying a used 2023 ID.4 and I'm wondering about service costs. My old car is an ICE that only went to the dealership for recalls but I know for this car it needs some service like the low conductive fluid that can't easily be done outside of the dealership.

Do you perform dealership service every year? How much do you pay? I also heard you can prepay for maintenance on the app and it's cheaper?

I feel like yearly service seems excessive for an EV, but I'm worried ignoring it will lead to warranty denials given that any battery issues are going to be expensive repairs and it's a 100k warranty
