Artpin — Remove museum painting backgrounds & reflections

I made a free iOS app that automatically removes wall backgrounds and reflections from museum paintings when you take a photo.

Features:
• Automatically detects the painting in your photo
• Removes background and glare
• Saves a clean, high-res digital version
•Create collections of your museum paintings

Current limitations:
• Vertical shots only

Would love any feedback!

I spent weeks tweaking brushstrokes for a 6.6MB Monet filter app — and a Van Gogh filter that might "eat" your face

Hey everyone,

I'm a solo developer and a massive Impressionism nerd. For a long time, I had this little frustration: I wanted to make my everyday photos look like Monet paintings, but I didn't want a 200MB+ app, and I didn't want another "AI-generated" image that just feels like a slot machine.

So I spent a few months building my own thing. It's called [Artelf], and it's literally only 6.6MB.

I built it with four filters, but I want to tell you about two of my favorites:

The Monet filter — This is the one I obsessed over. I tried to get it to soften the edges and blend colors like a real Impressionist painting, rather than just slapping a blur on it. I spent way too many nights tweaking it.

The Van Gogh Starry Night filter — This one is a bit of a chaotic experiment. If you upload a portrait, it tries to absorb you into the painting. Sometimes it works, and you become the little silhouette in the corner of Starry Night. Sometimes it fails, and the whole photo just becomes a swirling sky. It's a little unpredictable, but that's why I love it.

There are also a minimalist monochrome and an edge sketch filter, but those two above are my babies.

The boring but important details:

· It's a one-time $0.99 purchase (no subscriptions, no ads, no data tracking).
· It's 6.6MB, so it downloads in a blink and doesn't hog your storage.
· It works on iPhone and iPad.

I'm not a big company, just one person who really likes art and wanted a tiny tool. If you try it, I'd genuinely love to know what you think of the Monet filter — does it feel like a real painting to you? And if the Van Gogh filter eats your face, please tell me.

I built a 6.6MB app that turns your photos into Monet paintings

Hey r/promoteMyApp

I'm a solo developer and a huge fan of Impressionism. I always wanted a simple way to make my photos look like a Monet painting without using complex software.

So I spent a few months building a tiny app (only 6.6MB!) that does exactly that. It has 4 filters, my favorite being the Monet one that softens the edges and blends the colors.

Here's a before/after example

It's called Artelf. I'd love to hear what you think, especially if you're into art or photography. Any feedback is welcome!

Thanks for looking!
