How I Made Video Games Fun Like I Was a Kid Again as an Adult

As I got older and had less time to play videogames I kind of stopped enjoying them. This sucked because when I was a kid I loved playing videogames, so this feeling of not enjoying them very much anymore kind of made me a little sad. I would look at all of the new releases and know that even though they intrigued me, I would not enjoy playing them. I found that the answer lied in the way I was playing the videogames. As I got older and had less time to play, I started to hyper-optimize the way I played so I could fit more content into a smaller amount of time. This was the problem. I wasn't playing the videogames how I wanted to play them, I was playing the way the guides and the tutorials were telling me to play. How did I fix this? I started playing again with fun being my main priority. I just recently beat Dark Souls 1 largely on my own with minimal help from guides.- I had a blast. It was really hard but fun. I enjoyed playing the game how I wanted to play it, not how some you tube guide wanted me to play. Did it take me longer to beat? Yes. Was it harder? Yes. This just added to the fun.

I LOVE the 13MWZ Rigid

Can we all agree these are the best jeans of all time. For $25 you get a durable pair of raw denim that surprising fades and conforms to your body beautifully. They shrink a surprising amount for being sanforized, mine shrunk about an inch in the waist and two in length. The first photo is a pair of brand new ones compared to a pair I have worn daily for about a month. The rest of the pictures are some of my favorite examples of fading on the old pair. I love how they are starting to get a fade on the right pocket because that is where I keep my phone and wallet. You can see this in the 3rd picture.

Fake allergic reactions

Let’s just start this off by saying I have a very “active” brain. I am always worrying about the future, this being something I am working on. Sometimes when I am eating something I know I am not allergic too, I’ll think, “ what if I actually am allergic to this now,” and I’ll get the symptoms of a mild allergic reaction. I won’t be feeling any symptoms while eating at all until my brain randomly goes,” what if you’re allergic to this now?” It happened today with a piece of pizza. I know I am not allergic to pizza because I have it all the time. I was eating just fine until my brain was like,” bro you might be allergic to this,” and then it hit. That same night I ate the same pizza I had earlier and by the end I realized I did not get any symptoms of a reaction because I was distracted while eating it. I think my dumb brain is tricking me into thinking I’m having a reaction.

Edit: I probably should have included the symptoms. Usually it just feels like my throat is closing up a little. If I distract myself I notice it goes away.
