dehumidifier or a humidifier at queens?

for dorm supplies commonly recommended items are a humidifier and a dehumidifier depending on the state of the dorm. obviously dorms that get really dry need a humidifier and dorms that are damp and moldy need a dehumidifier.

i was just wondering if anyone had specific recommendations between the two for queens, specifically ban righ.

i saw some people say that other residents have some, but what other specific residences have single use washrooms like chown does? if i don't get a single plus i would like a residence that has those.

chance of getting math 121 as a second year

basically i can't take chem and math because the only
options for classes overlap so i need to choose which one to take in first year and take the second second year. because of this, i need chem for second year courses but i only need math to graduate.

how hard would it be to get math next year. as ik second years choose last, or will the class be full?

how long are typical work study shifts?

i heard someone else say that the typical working max for work study a week is between 5 and 7 hours. because of this, how long would a typical shift be? is it just one shift of that length, or two shorter ones? because two typical 4 hour shifts is already over the time maximum.

arin, econ 111 or astr 101??

hey everyone! i'm currently trying to figure out my last elective for gen sci and was wondering if anyone has taken any of the arin course code classes? if so, are they good to take as an elective and what type of stuff did you learn?

as for econ 111 or astr 101, those are the other two of the three i am deciding between. i know astr 101 is known as a bird but i've heard mixed reviews. i was wondering what the content is actually about. as someone who loves astronomy i would just like to know the type of content before committing to that class over the other two or simply a french elective.

is cisc 151 take able with no coding experience?

hey everyone! i'm an incoming first year general science student looking to pick my electives soon and was thinking about taking a coding class as it interests me! i was wondering if cisc 151 is manageable with literally 0 coding experience or if i should take cisc 101 first semester to prepare for it??

edit: also, does anyone have opinions on if taking physics or coding as an elective would be better???

what courses should i take first year??

hey everyone! i'm an incoming 1st year general science student looking to major in biotech or something similar second year! obviously aside from the requirements for the major, what are common electives that first year science students take.

i will also be using my transfer credits from ib psychology and don't know if i should take lighter course load first year or later. i dont exactly know how it works yet.

anyways, the requirements for biotech in fostering year are bio 102 and 103, chem 112, and finally math 120 or 121 (i will be taking 121).

does anyone have specific recommendations of classes i should take that will give me an advantage in upper years or would make making connections easier! thank you!!

how realistic is it to work in first year?

hello everyone! i am an incoming first year student studying general science (prob going into biotech) and was wondering how realistic it would be to work during my first year? i personally think it might be possible, however i wanted to hear others opinions. I want to be social and meet a lot of new people and im scared that having a job (especially early in the year) might hinder this. anyone have any opinions or if it would be beneficial for my resume and chances of an internship in the future??

also a side note, does anyone think getting jobs in student services at queens might be a better route than simply retail jobs for my future or does it not make a difference?? thank you!!
