After watching a couple YouTube videos on DMN and meditation, I decided to get in 60 minutes instead of the usual 20 minutes this morning. It was interesting to watch my mind come up with all sorts of excuses to stop after 20 minutes, then 25, then 30 , etc until I reached 60. But at that point , the DMN had really quieted down and I was feeling a distinct calm compared to when the session started. Fwiw, I did change posture at the 40 minute mark as I wasnt attempting to go beyond physical pain threshold just subtle mental thresholds.

The effects were noticeable after I got up and got to work on a computer project that I had been putting off. One problem after another kept coming up. Computer etc is not a strong suite of mine! Normally this would have been really frustrating... but my mind was in solution mode not bitch mode. It was refreshing to see this in action.

If you have some time today, do a little DMN research. Learning about how the brain works can definitely boost the motivation to meditate.
