Non-main protagonist/deuteragonist anime characters feeling unsupported

Look, a lot of us love the main protagonist anime characters and Bandai has figured out that those sets tend to do well. They've done a main protagonist set like once a year now since BT12 (Across Time, Secret Crisis, World Convergence, and Digimon Generation). Each time was under the guise of a theme, such as the Hunters finale or the movies. Sometimes the deuteragonist gets love too from them. Bandai isn't going to stop this trend. You know they're probably cooking up a main character set next year.

However, it does feel like the ensemble characters are not getting supported to stand on their own. It felt like the ADVENTURE trait was a slippery slope. Instead of getting a Biyomon that cared about ADVENTURE and Birds, it just cares about ADVENTURE. Now it feels like the same is happening to DATA SQUAD and BEATBREAK. At least the Data Squad characters had their own archetypes back then. The Beatbreak characters never had that chance. I wish they had just made a Gekkomon deck instead of a Beatbreak deck. It's taking the thunder away from Pristimon and Chiropmon.

Do you think we will ever see ensemble characters stand on their own again?

TIP: There will be more of a specific Ultimate Rare than a SR in BT-25

Disclaimer: Only applies to the base version of cards.

Based on early box openings, you will get TWO Ultimate Rares in a box of BT-25 Dual Revolution. There are three possible Ultimate Rares and there are 12 boxes in a case. So that means you get 24 Ultimate Rares in a case. On average, you get 8 of each Ultimate Rare in a case.

Compared to Super Rares, where you get 7 of a possible 12. That means in a case, you get 84 Super Rares. That means on average, you get 7 of each Super Rare in a case. They are pretty much equivalent in rarity.

This is great and I hope Bandai keeps these pull rates and doesn't adjust them for future sets or EX sets (or add an additional UR to the pool). That means you have 11 higher rarity pulls in a box now (7 SRs + 2 URs + 2 AAs or Sec).

Possible ramifications:

  1. The Beatbreak deck is easier than it looks to upgrade than it did at first glance.
  2. All the Beelstarmon/Three Musketeers fan rejoice, especially if you already have your Beelstarmon (X-Antibody) cards ready.
