Reading the One Piece manhwa for the first time. Any advice or recommendations?
After years of hearing good (and bad) things about One Piece, I finally decided to see what it was like. I decided to do it by reading the colored manga, since I personally can't stand watching anime for very long, and I only watch it if I've already read the manga and really enjoyed it.
(I'm on chapter 24 of the manga btw)
This question has probably been asked a lot in this sub, but if anyone has any recommendations, I'd love to hear them.
I also want to say a couple of things:
- The beginning seems a bit boring to me, but it's not surprising; it's a manga from many years ago, so I have no complaints, it's normal.
- I was pleasantly surprised by the art from the beginning; it looks nice and cute. I'm not a big fan of One Piece's style, but it seems simpler and cleaner than what I've seen online. I suppose Oda will modify his art as the chapters progress, which is also normal in manga, especially such long ones. I also suppose that reading it in color makes it more beautiful; it seems that One Piece is a manga that benefits from the color version. ((The same thing happened to me with Jojo's; it felt strange reading it with that art style, but in the end I got used to it and ended up liking it. I suppose the same will happen here.))
- I already have spoilers for several things I've been reading online all these years; that Luffy's fruit is actually that of the sun god, that Gold Roger is related to Luffy (or so I think, because I always saw him mentioned with the D. as his last name, I suppose that being from Luffy's family, but at least for now they only call him Gold Roger, so I guess that's another spoiler I have), some of the characters who die (and not die), etc... so some things won't surprise me too much. But I think that with how extensive the manga is, there are a thousand things I don't know.
I hope to enjoy one of the most famous manga in the entire world.
