Red Light Therapy: difference between Omnilux face mask and cheaper mat purchased on Amazon

Red Light Therapy: difference between Omnilux face mask and cheaper mat purchased on Amazon

I just thought others may be interested in this.

I have the Omnilux Counter Red Light Face Mask - I've been using it for years and am on my second one. I really love it and it's done wonders for my skin complexion. The first one lasted 3-4 years and both my husband and I used it regularly, so it's more like 6-8 years since together we used it twice as much as typical. I just purchased a new one when the battery eventually refused to charge - with a discount, I paid $330. (I was outside of the warranty; I read online that you can't just buy a new battery so I just purchased a new mask - kinda wish I'd pressed on finding a new battery!). Anyways...

I am recovering from a mommy makeover (breast lift, breast fat transfer, and lipo), and I decided I wanted a red light mat for my body to help with wound healing. I went online to see my options...there are SO many varieties out there, including some much cheaper ones as low as $20-30. I was kicking myself for spending so much on a face mask when there are way less expensive options. I wound up not going super cheap but not super expensive - split the middle with a $100 33"x17" mat from Amazon.

The mat arrived yesterday - seems to be great quality, from a German company and manufactured in China. It's too soon to tell if I'll get any benefits but I picked that one because there were hundreds of very positive reviews that seemed legitimate (mostly about restorative/healing properties, not anti-aging - like speeding up recovery for sore bodies after workouts or helping with arthritis/back pain/inflammation).

Again, I started wondering if I wasted money on my Omnilux until I put them side by side. The photo really speaks for itself! I think the mat still will be helpful for helping my body heal more quickly, but I'm definitely sticking with my Omnilux mask if/when it comes time for a new face mask for anti-aging.

EDIT: Just re-read this and it sounds like an ad for Omnilux. I promise I have ZERO affiliation. I think this probably applies to many of the more expensive masks. I wanted to be specific about which mask I used since someone would likely ask. I just was really annoyed with myself for "wasting" money and seeing this made me feel better.
